(Folders) A Delhi court on Saturday extended the custody of AAP leader Manish Sisodia to May 28 in a money laundering case related to an alleged excise scam. Sisodia, who appeared in court when his custody expired, told the media that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be able to stop Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal's work in Delhi.

The court rejected Sisodia's bail request on Friday, saying "the economic crimes case has serious implications for the general public and society at large, as the evidence gathered during the investigation speaks volumes about his involvement in the commission of said crime".

The Law Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on March 9 in the liquor policy case.

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI earlier in its ongoing investigation into a case involving alleged irregularities in the development and implementation of the excise policy of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD).

He is currently in custody in both cases.
